Both the climbers are feeling fatigued and are frustrated as in the 6 hours of decent, they have only managed 1000ft even though they were hoping to get to the bottom already. Disaster struck as when Joe was trying to climb down a cliff he fell down and broke his leg, he was really frustrated and angry. It was at this moment Joe started thinking to himself that he would not be able to make it down this mountain so he accepted the fact that he his dead as he doesn’t think Simon would come back for him. Simon eventually found him but Joe still doesn’t believe they are team and that they are not getting down together. Simon had a moment of thought where he hoped Joe fell so then he could make it down the mountain easier on his own and not bare the responsibility of looking out for him. Simon stayed any way as considering that they are both still alive they might as well get down together. He came up with a plan that involves using a 300ft (two 150ft ropes) and lower each other down the mountain with Simon lowering him considering Joe can’t climb. However, Joe’s attitude hasn’t changed and still believes he is dead.
